No Demo for MW2

Yep.. as posted in another thread.. it was implied that no demo will be necessary for this years game as they've already had 2 million pre-orders I think JUST FOR the prestige edition. This is not counting the other versions or maybe it is including all consoles/PC editions.. not sure from the reading. However, it has been noted that other game manufacturers have pushed out their release dates until Q1 of 2010 because of the holiday massacre that will be MW2.

System requirements have been stated to be high.. and then some are saying about like MW with enhanced textures. No one really knows or at least not stating publically (certainly not from the developers)... so just like Wolf.. if they are not saying anything about it and don't release a demo.. I think that indicates to me that the specs required for the game will be really high and they don't want to let the cat out of the bag (partially due to the preorders)! After the slight burning from Wolf.. my expectations from the gaming market is that if there is no news.. that's not to be interpreted as good news. The only real news hinted at is from GameStop and their take on the MW2 requirements is that it will be the next Crysis game in respects to the hardware required to run it.

My opinion is that the game developers cannot alienate most of their market of players but still need to push the evelope. The only middle ground after about 3 years of computer releases is that I suspect the game will play ok on an XP or higher system with a video card made in the last 2 years with at least 512MB of memory on the video card.. a Core 2 Duo low end processor.. and at least 3GB of system memory. That would be a good middle ground system without sacrificing all of the graphic options, net decent performance and still get something out of the game that's new.

I'm sure it'l be playable to most with a half way decent system. Personally i usually turn down some of the pretty colors for the smoother game play, but i guess we'll have to wait and see. And like you said, if they already have that many preorders taken, i'm sure they're not too worried about pumping out a demo to entice people to buy the game. I'm sure it'l probably be the best selling pc game of the year.
