Good asuran point farming

Postby {Ru}Lord_Slayer on Sat Feb 28, 2009 10:18 am

The old raptors. I played around with a couple ideas to solo the whole nest and finally came up with one that works. Shadow refuge is only used when the boss is still alive. He can hit you and he bleeds you so that will keep you alive. The armor of earth is probably not needed. I added it thinking it might make the boss take a smaller chunk out of you when he hits you. Ive cleared the area without using that skill at all so im not sure its necessary. There is a "Jar of something" down in the cave.If you pick it up and drop it it gives you 30 energy. A run takes 2 minutes and nets you about 150-175 asuran points(2points per kill, average 30 kills = 60 points, +75 points for killing boss, and then a random point bonus for over 25 kills. Usually 25 asuran points. You also get a random award after 20 kills, it could be bonus energy on a kill or double the asuran points. ANyway, thats over 4000 asuran points a hour

Once I have this run mastered. The cool thing to do is get leechers to come with you and stay up by the shrine. They just leech the asuran ponts. But with them in your party you get more and all the drops in the cave

you mean raptor farming in general right, not the build? You shouldnt of been able to keep up shadow form with a elemental 1st class.

nah, pre nerf you still needed a con set to keep up shadow form as a elem. There use to be a elem nuker build for raptors but with it you couldnt kill the boss and you had to hope to kill all the raptors before your 1 cycle of shadow form wore off. there was also a sliver armor build for elem ,but you had to hope to kill the boss before shadow form wore off. anyhow the boss is key, worth 75 points

Humm.. I guess we'll wait and see what he can say. I noticed you were not playing tonight but still posting. I could have used some company playing my Assassin in Norn territory.

Also.. they were selling stacks of (TOT) Trick or Treat bags (that have the candy corn as a possible drop) in them for 50k per stack. They were telling me that the bags sold for 300g each during Halloween.

well the candy cane isnt really needed anymore with it being a all sin team. well I shouldnt say it isnt needed. But I wouldnt waste any money on a bag not knowing if there was any candy corn inside. A elem would need consumables, a golden egg and Candy corn to keep up shadow form, Or maybe thats what they needed before the nerf. Because I tested the sin now. a golden egg by itself was not enought for me to keep shadow form up. Once I took a consumable and a egg, I could maintain it. SO lets do ther math. My sin has a base of 16 in shadow arts, add the consumables and golden egg and I now have a 18 in shadow arts. I see no way in hell a elem can do it now even with candy corn, egg, and consumables.. the best they could get would be a 15, and a 18 is needed.
Well anyway, spending that kind of cash on something you dont know what your getting may not be a good choice, though candy corn would be a substitute for the golden egg.
As for not playing, I played Gw for about 10 hours yesterday. I just dont start at 10:00 at night, More like 9:00 in the morning. I went to bed last night right after I posted in the forums and now im up and ready to hit it strong again. I'll see you on in 10 minutes right?

You never answered any of the questions. We knew it was pre-nerf. Nerf just happened in December. ANd killing the boss could be done eons ago using a sliver armor build like I mentioned earler for the elementalists. These are the 2 questions" Was the build you used able to keep shadow form on permanently for the elemtalist. Im saying No it couldnt, even before the nerf, and Ein thinks it could(to make sure you understand the question, im not asking you if your build used shadow form. im asking if your old build used perma shadow form using the deadly paradox, glyph of swiftness and S.F..
2nd question is, did you use the exact same build I posted above, your original reply made it sound like you did and I find that hard to believe because next to noone knew about the ebony Vanguard skill'susefulness until recently.

What this is really all about for me is how good this current build is. In the past you could do 2 things wityh the raptos. You would use a speed buff to round up all the raptors other than the boss, use shadow form once and nuke them. The 2nd build used shadow form once and sliver armor. With that build you were able to kill the boss and maybe a few raptors before shadow form wore off.

This build kills all the raptors and the boss. Im just trying to what you actually did back when you farmed them.

P.s.I subbed in a skill called."you run like a dwarf in place of that bonus armor skill I didnt use, That skill knocks the boss down and cripples him so he cant run away like a coward.

So.. what are we supposed to have as a group for sin farming? What level should we target to have what title track at? Asuran at 4? 6? Norn at 2? (I know Norn's not going to help but I mean any title that would help the spells etc)

Birthday weekend is coming up soon so we can farm golden eggs at that time.

Slayer.. you're a punk. Look forward to completing this farming thingy in the UW with 'ya soon.

Ill have to recheck, I think it was a 8 in asuran and a 6 in norn but I cant remember for sure.

we will hook up this weekend for sure Ein. We can do some dungeons, to fill up our books. Dq has to do all the EOTN missions yet, Glider has only done the ebony Vanguard portion with her sin. My Sin I think is to the mission hearts of something. So if you guys have mission stuff to do. I can use by Elem to go questing with you up to that point so we can be more potent. If you have done all the missions ein we dont have to redo them while your on. I can do that with the girls on our own. I have forseen the future. About the time we get our sins all ready to do this. There will be some sort of nerf that keeps us from doing it

You and I *BOTH* see the future.. it's just like when we quit the first time after they nerfed the monks.

My Sin is to Gunner's Hold. I'm ready to chase the Norn bear. Basically.. it's right at the beginning. I've got some well equipped heroes and some so so equipped heroes. Even if they nerf it, it'll be fun to get out and do some gaming I think. We can use VENT! :)

Slayer, if you fail me.. you will be punished. I almost quit playing this last weekend. I'll explain only on Vent.

will if its from being stood up, you may end up quitting yet.I play Gw by the seat of my pants and when Im really in the mood. What sucks for you, is the kids and I play alot of Gw throughout the day during the weekend. SO when you decide to show up at 10-11:00. Sometimes we have had enough playing. It could happen this weekend as well. There is never a guarentee. Though we will make a effort. Im turning into a true 1st shifter now. Late nights are a thing of the past for me. im up at 8:00 in the morning on the weekends and I cant go much past midnight anymore. On Friday nights is worse. im up at 4am, so sometimes I cant even make it past 11:00 pm

Well, I'll not bother to explain but that's not it. Although I find it interesting given your former life as a weekend soldier in our army. ;)

I grow wiser with age. The weekend is wasted when your up all night and sleep til noon. During the week id stay up til 10:30pm and get up at 5:00AM for work. Id be grumpy ,tired and miserable all day and the 8 hours im at work seems like 12 hours. Now I go to bed most nights at 8:30- 9:00. In the morning I feel refreshed and happy and my days at work seem to fly by. When you get on a set sleeping scheduale your body becomes use to it. ON a Friday night I start getting tired by 9:00, but being its the weekend I fight on for awhile. But after Midnight doesnt happen very often anymore.

Anyway, I spend 140k tongiht on 2 stacks of Golden eggs. After the sale the guy types to me, "happy underworld speed farming" I know you may think its stupid buying these eggs with Easter right around the corner, But its really not. The uber speed clearers can do it in 20 minutes. WHen we start learning it im sure it will be 40 minutes. Thats 8 golden eggs per person for 1 run. I have 3 mouths to feed here, so thats 24 eggs per run for me. :) Of course, now im broke again cept for all the ecto, saphires, rubies, and shards I have.
