At least for tonight. Sorry EIn , I just dont get it. I got disconected 3 times in a row because it takes so long for my map to load. Ive done every bit of maint, I could do for this computer and it runs like a top. I went to pcpitstop to have it tested and it ranks as "In the top 30% of computers out there. No tests fail and it says everything on my computer is running to spec. I checked my download speed and its at 5 meg. I defragged my registry and harddrive. My computer is in tip top shape. It plays other games without a hitch. Theres just something about COD4 and my computer I guess. Ill have to do more reading on it to see if I can find any new solutions.

Well, I would say it's Vista had it not been for you being able to play last weekend after a few minutes of laggy play. It may *still* be Vista.. but the COD5 game is out in a month.. and I'm fairly confident that it's ready to run on Vista. We can still read on the web what if any issues COD5 has with Vista. I'm not saying give up.. but it looks like it might be something that we might only be able to find a partial solution to. Humm.. grrr.. this is unfortunate.. Anyone have any idea when Wolf2 might be out? Any new rumors on the web again? I seen some demo footage on YouTube and they were laughing about it only being on Xbox.

That sucks Lordy, i remember Cy had a lot of Vista issues with CoD too. Have you tried it on the kids computer at all?

Yeah a while ago I played on there computer and it worked just fine.Its just they use differnt mouse and keyboard. ANd I dont feel like making a huge production of disconnecting there computer,bringing to over to my desk to play COD4 and then have to put everything back the next day. I may just take claims back on my old gaming rig and give her this computer back. I would hate to give up the nice graphics card and the dual processor though.

Whoa.. hold up. Why not just play COD4 on that XP machine on the weekend? Seriously, Diablo III, Wolf2 and COD5 will be out in the next 6 months.. surely they'll run on Vista without trouble. So why not just game on that rig for the weekends for a few hours rather than swap 'em out.

Well, I wont be getting COD5, I probably wont get Diablo either. As we learned from Guildwars. We will hardly ever play together. The only thing I would keep this rig for would be WOlf 2. ANd like Vic said, We prolly wont see that one til 2012. I should of bought a new rig by then

Humm.. in fairness, you perfer to play those games alone or with your children (GW specifically) and I understand that. Now for COD(X) I think we would all play that. What *would* you play then? Wolf is a given.. but I think of all the games out that COD4 or 5 would be the more likely that we'd all play it. I guess Diablo III is a bit of a stretch; however, I'm confident you didn't put in all that time for GW.. not to play GW2. So we'll hook up in there I'm sure.

Again, what other games would you like to try? I'd like you to keep trying COD4 on the XP machine. I was getting butchered on COD4 until I found the G36C combo I told you about that worked for me. Anyway, I did think that you had done very well when playing for not having played very much AND with the lag. Let's hope that you'll just borrow the XP machine on Fridays/Saturdays to game a few hours with us! Punk.

I should be on at some point tonight. I really do want to play. I dont think I have the ambition to try to get theis game installed, updated and then transfer my profile over to the XP computer. SO i will prolly play on Vista. Theres is something strange about VIsta though. WHere my hidden profile is where I can change the configs doesnt exist. I followed the internets direction on where the file should be, but nothing is there. Vista must move the file someplace else. Im ababbling now. I will try to be on some point. Bubba better be too.
