As we suspected something significant at the end of March/beginning of April.. just they didn't make any announcements at that time last year when we were expecting it. I don't much care for or dislike the microtransaction system most games have gone to these days; however, it's better than pay-to-play any day. GW2 will be just that but greatly expanded upon what we already see.. buying clothes, skills, storage, etc. The big difference at this time is that they are not transferrable between characters.. the big question I'm curious about is will they allow that in GW2? I.E. meaning someone could spend real world money to essentially buy their way into the game (buy X item from store, offer to trade X item in game for Y item that they didn't have to earn etc.). I have seen some MMORPG's do this.. so I'm curious if that will happen or not in GW2. Most likely no.. also with the new auction house (based in part on WOW's version) what will .. (phone call)..

What?? No comment! I'm suprised after it seems they (Arena Net) have appeared to hit the hype mark but lag all to hell with performance even on high end systems. Of all the things I've read.. I think the lag/graphics issue will be the biggest concern I would have with GW2 on release. Lag and excellent graphics.. not gonna work. No lag and crappy graphics (no worse that GW now) will be acceptable until they can fix it.

Gamestop is now taking pre-orders for a June release of GW2 normal edition. Currently if the game ends up with an actual street date release in June, then there will not be a "collectors edition" most likely if it is released during that time. Street price for pre-order is $59.99 PC but they have also been taking pre-orders for Diablo III since 2009; however, I suspect that the game will need to be released this year to begin earning some return on investment that Arena net's parent company has invested since 2008ish.

GameStop still has the GW2 game for release in June. Looks like that just might be the release date. Unless Slayer is secretly playing GW2 beta by himself this last week, then we'll see what happens when they offer the game on the Areana Net site. I stil haven't decided what I'm going to do... but the CE version with the mini pet might be something I save up to get.
